Pick it and Kick It

If you can be enthusiastic about something, over time, you can be successful at the thing you’re enthusiastic about.

Of course, you have to extend your enthusiasm longer for brain surgery than you do for basket weaving to be competent, but you need it for both to be any good.

Success is a a heck of a lot easier if you:

1. Pick one area to focus on (your narrow area of focus can be as broad as “making money” or “18th century medical history”. Just define it).

2. Be outstandingly enthusiastic about that one area you’ve defined.

I’ve seen many people be enthusiastic about an indefinite bunch of things and fail. On the other hand, I’ve seen many drive themselves to be enthusiastic for one narrow area and succeed.

It’s more fun, of course, to enjoy it.

Focus and feel it.
